Jason Bazilian, D.A.O.M., MTOM, L.Ac.
Jason Bazilian is the first doctor of Acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine (D.A.O.M.) in the United States, having completed his
doctoral degree at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (in
association with Oregon Health and Sciences University medical
facilities and staff) in Portland, Oregon. The principle focus of the
doctoral program was in the field of Integrative Medicine – when and how
to incorporate the most effective clinical practices of both Eastern and
Western medicine for the maximal benefit of the patient, while
minimizing adverse side effects.
Dr. Bazilian is state licensed in CA, NY,
and CT, and is a nationally certified diplomate (NCCAOM) in
Acupuncture and also Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine. Prior to his
doctoral degree, he received his Master’s degree in Traditional Oriental
Medicine (MTOM), summa cum laude, from the Pacific College of Oriental
Medicine in San Diego. Dr. Bazilian is a certified specialist in
Traditional Chinese Medical women’s health (OB/Gyn), having completed a
2-year post-graduate course of intensive study in Boulder, Colorado. Dr. Bazilian spent two months undertaking a post-graduate
training/internship at the foremost integrated Chinese/Western medical
hospital in Changsha (Hunnan Province of China). He was most recently
in China in 2005 for two months completing advanced doctoral training at
the W.H.O. international training facility in Nanjing, where he focused
on the integrative medical treatment approaches for pain conditions.
Dr. Bazilian is also the former Director of
the Acupuncture Department at Knollwood Hospital in Riverside,
California, where he worked as part of an integrated medical team
treating chemical dependency and a variety of challenging chronic/acute
pain conditions for three years.
He is a contributor to
local and national media papers
and regularly gives lectures and workshops to the community and private
audiences.
Currently, Dr. Bazilian is the Clinical Director of Bazilian’s Health Clinic, a private integrative medical practice in
San Diego, California (Rancho Bernardo) with his wife, Dr. Wendy Bazilian, where
he specializes in the treatment of a wide variety of pain related and
musculoskeletal conditions, women’s health (OB/Gyn) and fertility
issues, and other internal medical issues including pediatrics,
digestive conditions, allergies, headaches/migraines and neurological
disorders such as post-stroke care. Additional areas include immune
system disorders, integrated complementary care for cancer, smoking and
addiction conditions, stress/anxiety/depression, chronic fatigue and
fibromyalgia as well as cosmetic/anti-aging acupuncture, among others.
Dr. Bazilian was the consulting Acupuncture and Chinese Medical
Specialist for the renowned Golden Door spa and fitness resort in
Escondido, California for more than a decade. He is in New York City
monthly to see private clientele.
